E-Invoice #8 How to Issue an E-Invoice by Copying a Previous Invoice in MyInvois

When issuing an e-Invoice, you don’t always need to go through the entire process from scratch—especially when billing the same customer or selling the same products/services. MyInvois offers a Copy as Draft feature, which allows you to duplicate a previous invoice, saving time and effort.

This method is particularly useful for businesses that:
Bill the same customers regularly (e.g., subscription-based services, professional fees)
Sell the same products or services to different customers
Have fixed pricing for standard services

However, if you run a retail or B2C business where customers and products differ frequently, this method may not be practical for you.

Step-by-Step Guide: Copying a Previous E-Invoice

1. Log in to MyInvois Portal
    • Visit MyTax

💡 Example from My Experience:
I run a company secretary firm, and my charges are fixed for most clients. When issuing e-Invoices, I simply copy the previous invoice and only change the customer details. This method significantly reduces processing time.

5. Review & Modify Line Items
    • Under the Line Item page, review the products/services copied from the previous invoice
    • Update quantity, descriptions, or pricing if needed

Is This Method Suitable for Your Business?

Ideal for:

    • Businesses with fixed services or standard pricing
    • Professional service providers (accounting firms, secretarial firms, consultants)
    • Businesses with recurring customers

May not work well for:

    • Retail or B2C businesses where products and customers vary frequently
    • Businesses with custom pricing for each transaction

💡 Understand how MyInvois Portal works and decide whether to continue using it or invest in accounting software.

Final Thoughts – Save Time with the Copy Feature

The Copy as Draft feature in MyInvois cuts down the time needed to issue repeat invoices. If your business regularly bills the same customers or charges fixed prices, this is an excellent way to speed up your e-Invoice process.
